- Tetrakis(triphenylphosphine)ruthenium(II) hydride
- Ruthenium - Triphenylphosphane (1:4)
Dihydridotetrakis(triphenylphosphine)ruthenium (II) is a coordination complex with the formula [(PhP)RuCl]2. It is a dark-red solid that is soluble in nonpolar solvents such as benzene and toluene. The compound adopts an octahedral geometry with Ru-Cl distances of 2.27 Å, Cl-Ru-Cl angles of 109°, and Cl-Ru-Cl distances of 2.21 Å. Dihydridotetrakis(triphenylphosphine)ruthenium (II) was used as a catalyst in the transfer hydrogenation of 8-hydroxyquinoline and ethylene to give 1,4,8-trioxaspiro[5.5]undecane in high yield. In addition, it was shown that this complex can be used for preparative x-ray crystallography studies by single
