Descripción:
4,6-Diiodopyrimidine is a molecule with the molecular formula C4H4N2I2. It has a number of isomers and stereoisomers that have been synthesized and studied by x-ray crystallography. 4,6-Diiodopyrimidine fluoresces when irradiated with UV light. The fluorescence properties can be modified by cross-coupling reactions or by changing the temperature of the sample to induce changes in the coordination chemistry of the compound. 4,6-Diiodopyrimidine can be used as a linker in organic synthesis to form covalent bonds with other molecules. At room temperature, 4,6-diiodopyrimidine is an orange solid that becomes more red when heated to higher temperatures due to a shift in its electronic absorption spectrum.
