MUT056399 is a synthetic compound that inhibits the enzyme hepg2, which is involved in microbial infection. The kinetic and structural analysis of MUT056399 was done using a model system of Hepg2 from human erythrocytes. This compound has the ability to disable bacterial membranes by disrupting phospholipid bilayers. MUT056399 also exhibits antimicrobial activity against Gram-positive bacteria, including methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) and Streptococcus pneumoniae, as well as Gram-negative bacteria such as Salmonella typhimurium and Escherichia coli. In addition, this compound is active against cancer cells.
