• Descripción: WAY-169916 is a novel, orally active, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that inhibits the activity of inflammatory genes by binding to and blocking the response element. WAY-169916 has shown efficacy in vivo in animal models of cardiac and renal diseases. It has also been shown to lower diastolic blood pressure in rats with chronic heart failure. WAY-169916's mechanism of action is not fully understood but may involve inhibition of the activity of 17β-estradiol and/or its receptor. This drug also has an antiinflammatory effect on bowel disease models in mice by inhibiting inflammation through mechanisms that are yet to be elucidated.
