Trans-2-Dodecenol can inhibit the growth of bacteria by inhibiting methyl transferase and chloride ion transport, and it can also cause cancer cells to self destruct. This chemical may also be toxic to humans at high concentrations, causing sublethal effects such as behavioral responses.
