N-Acetal bromopride is a chemotherapy drug that inhibits the growth of cancer cells by interfering with their production of nucleic acids. It also has antiviral, antiparasitic, and natural antibiotic properties. N-Acetal bromopride can be used to kill bacteria and fungi, including yeast, and is not active against viruses. N-Acetal bromopride is synthesized from acetaldehyde in a four-step process involving oxidation, reduction, hydrolysis, and acetylation.
