1H-Pyrrolo[3,2-c]pyridine-2,3-dione is a molecule that has two nitro, carbonyl groups and a pyrrole ring. It can exist in either the tautomeric form or the operational form. The pharmacophore of this molecule is its thioacetamide group, which allows it to act as an inhibitor of amide formation. The synthons for this molecule are 3-(2-chloroethyl)thiophene and 2-aminoethanethiol. Modifications to 1H-Pyrrolo[3,2-c]pyridine-2,3-dione include adding methoxy groups on the nitrogen atom.
