Descripción:LDN 212320 is a glutamate modulator that has been shown to have neuroprotective properties. It inhibits the acid transporter, which may be responsible for the accumulation of extracellular glutamate. This drug also suppresses inflammatory pain in rats and clinical response in patients with HIV-associated dementia. LDN 212320 blocks the excitotoxicity process by blocking glutamate receptors on postsynaptic neurons, preventing synaptic release of neurotransmitters and neuronal cell death. LDN 212320 also prevents protein synthesis by inhibiting the enzyme dihydroorotate dehydrogenase.
