ST2825 interferes with the recruitment of IRAK1 and IRAK4 by MyD88, causing inhibition of IL-1β-mediated activation of NF-κB transcriptional activity. ST 2825 has been shown to inhibit the growth of human osteosarcoma cells. The mechanism by which ST 2825 inhibits tumor cell growth is not well understood, but it may involve inhibition of toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4) signaling and prevention of NF-κB translocation. This compound also has anti-inflammatory properties and can be used to treat bowel disease.
