2-(Pyrrolidin-2-yl)pyrimidine is an immunosuppressive drug that binds to the pyrimidine ring in the active site of transcriptase and prevents its interaction with DNA. 2-(Pyrrolidin-2-yl)pyrimidine also has a methyl group, which may interact with amide groups or methyl groups in DNA. This drug has been shown to have high activity against human lymphocytes and to have a structure-activity relationship with benzyloxyphenyl compounds.
