FLHN can be labeled with a variety of antibodies, which are then bound to the surface of an optical sensor. The FLHN label has been shown to have specificities against many types of bacteria and minimizes interference from other compounds in the sample. FLHN also has high sensitivity and dextran, which may be used as a control for nonspecific binding.
