1-Methoxyisoquinoline-3-carboxylic acid is a sulfate salt of dimethylheptyl. It is synthesized from hydroxylamine and propylene glycol, which are both readily available in the environment. 1-Methoxyisoquinoline-3-carboxylic acid has been shown to have an affinity for CB2 receptors in the brain. This compound has been shown to be effective in wastewater treatment as it can neutralize chlorinated compounds and cannabinoids, such as THC. The high yield of this compound makes it suitable for use in acylation reactions, which are used to produce pharmaceuticals and other products.
