Bis(S)-4,5-dihydro-3H-binaphtho[1,2-C:2',1'-E]phosphino)ferrocene is a ligand that binds to metal ions and is chiral. It is used in catalytic transformations of allylation, alkylation, and allylic substitution reactions. Bis(S)-4,5-dihydro-3H-binaphtho[1,2-C:2',1'-E]phosphino)ferrocene reacts with anions to produce high reactivity intermediates. These intermediates undergo rapid hydrogenation with high enantioselectivity.
