Sculponeatin N is a natural product that was isolated from the fungus Scutellospora indica. It has been shown to have bioactivities, including inhibition of diels-alder reactions and metathesis reactions. Sculponeatin N also has antimicrobial properties and can inhibit the production of pro-inflammatory mediators by LPS-stimulated macrophages. This compound has been shown to be effective against a wide range of Gram-positive bacteria, including Bacillus anthracis and Staphylococcus aureus. Sculponeatin N also has anti-inflammatory effects in LPS-stimulated macrophages.
