(S)-tert-Butyl 3-bromopyrrolidine-1-carboxylate is a reagent that can be used for the synthesis of chiral compounds. It reacts with chlorosulfonyl isocyanate to form an N-substituted sulfonamide. This reaction proceeds with high stereoselectivity, yielding the desired product in high yield and enantiomeric excess. (S)-tert-Butyl 3-bromopyrrolidine-1-carboxylate can also be used as a desulfonylation reagent and has been shown to react with c1-c6 alkoxy groups to form alcohols.
