PFI 3 is a natural compound derived from the plant Polygonum multiflorum Thunb. It has been found to inhibit HDAC, which are enzymes that regulate gene expression and cause cancer. PFI 3 inhibits the activity of CDK4/6, which are inhibitors of cell division and are often mutated in cancer cells. PFI 3 also inhibits the activity of Bromodomain proteins and is currently being studied for its effects on stem cells. PFI 3 has shown promising health benefits in animal models with cancer. These results have been validated by functional assays and studies on food composition.
