AMPK Activator 991 also appears to have beneficial effects on metabolic disorders such as diabetes and obesity, by stimulating the production of cyclic nucleotide phosphodiesterase, which regulates the flow of cyclic nucleotides. This drug also increases camp levels in cells. The α subunit is required for the activity of this compound.
