Descripción:AA-CW236 is a sesquiterpene lactone that inhibits cancer cell growth by methylating DNA. The anticancer activity of this compound has been demonstrated in mouse models and in human cancer cells. It is a reactive, covalent inhibitor that binds to the active site of DNA methyltransferases (Dnmts). AA-CW236 has been shown to have damaging effects on healthy cells, which may be due to its ability to bind to cellular proteins and induce cellular stress. The anticancer activity of AA-CW236 has also been shown to be dependent on the strain of the mouse it was administered to, as well as the type of tumor it was used for treatment.
