1-(4-Methylphenyl)-3-phenylprop-2-yn-1-one (1MPP) is an organic compound that belongs to the group of phenylpropynones. It can be prepared by a Wittig reaction with ethyl acetoacetate and 4-methylbenzaldehyde. 1MPP has been used as a reagent in the synthesis of selenides and as a catalyst for phosphine activation.
