9,9-Bis(3-aminophenyl)fluorene (BPF) is a yellow solid that has been shown to yield an alkene when heated. The transport properties of BPF are enhanced at high temperatures due to its cavity size and the vapour pressure of the molecule. In addition, BPF can be used in optical devices as it emits light at wavelengths between 500 and 800 nm, with a peak emission wavelength of 565 nm. It also has thermally activated transport properties and can be used as a dye in optical filters and membranes.
