4-Butylbenzonitrile is a benzonitrile that acts as an inhibitor of tyrosinase. It has been shown to have potent anti-inflammatory properties, which may be due to its ability to inhibit the production of prostaglandins. The structure of 4-Butylbenzonitrile contains a hyperbolic cavity and copper ions at the active site. This cavity can bind to polyvinyl acetate chains and form polymer films, which are observed in the spectra. 4-Butylbenzonitrile can also be used to enhance the raman spectra of benzonitriles.
