Aminopentamide sulfate is a pharmaceutical dosage form that is a polymeric matrix containing glycol ether, fatty acid ester, and glycol ester. It is used as a local anesthetic to numb the skin and other tissues. Aminopentamide sulfate can be administered topically or by injection into the body. The intramolecular hydrogen bonds in aminopentamide sulfate are thought to be formed between the carbonyl group of atropine sulfate and the hydroxyl groups of benzimidazole derivatives.
