• Descripción: (1R,2R,5R)-2-Isopropyl-5-methylcyclohexanol is a hydroxy group containing compound. It has been shown to inhibit the growth of oral pathogens in vitro. The compound also inhibits the production of isovaleric acid (IVA) by suppressing the activity of two enzymes, 3-hydroxyisobutyryl CoA dehydrogenase and 3-hydroxyl-3-methylglutaryl CoA synthase. This inhibition leads to a decrease in IVA and other short chain fatty acids that are important for fungal growth. (1R,2R,5R)-2-Isopropyl-5-methylcyclohexanol is an inhibitor of solid catalysts used in pharmaceutical preparations and ester compounds.
