Descripción:NS3763 is a drug that has been shown to have neuroprotective effects in animal models of epilepsy and stroke. It selectively inhibits the activity of the gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) receptor, which is an inhibitory neurotransmitter. NS3763 has also been shown to prevent glutamate-induced neuronal death in mice. This drug also blocks the activity of cation channels that are activated by GABA, resulting in depressed excitatory effects and decreased seizure susceptibility. The mechanism of action for NS3763 is unclear, but it may function as a non-selective cation channel activator or as an excitatory effector. In addition to its neuroprotective properties, NS3763 has been shown to have anxiolytic effects in animal models and may be useful for treating nervous system diseases such as epilepsy and stroke.
