This compound has been shown to inhibit elastase activity, which is involved in the development and progression of cancer. Studies have demonstrated that D-Mannose-2-13C induces apoptosis in human cancer cells, suggesting its potential use as an anti-tumor agent. Additionally, D-Mannose-2-13C has been shown to enhance the effects of other inhibitors such as dapoxetine, β-glucan, Chinese herb wogonin, and kinase inhibitors.
