Descripción:17:0 PC is a fatty acid found in human serum and tissue samples. It is a major component of the lipidome, accounting for approximately 20% of all lipids. 17:0 PC has been shown to be associated with insulin resistance, as well as other diseases such as hepatitis. The analytical method for determining the presence of 17:0 PC in tissue samples is based on vibrational spectroscopy. A sample preparation procedure involves drying the sample at room temperature, which causes phase transition from liquid to solid state. This procedure also facilitates the separation of fats from water by using a vacuum pump to evacuate air from a closed container containing the sample and then heating it up to evaporate all water content. This leaves only dry solids that can be analyzed using vibrational spectroscopy.
