2-(Acetylamino)-3-(4-nitrophenyl)-2-propenoic acid is a potent corrosion inhibitor that has been shown to be efficient in various techniques. It functions by inhibiting the electrochemical reactions between metal ions and oxygen, thus protecting the metal from corrosion. 2-(Acetylamino)-3-(4-nitrophenyl)-2-propenoic acid is used as a corrosion inhibitor in industrial processes such as steel production and oil refining. It can also be used as a surface treatment for metals, plastics, and concrete. This compound has been shown to be an effective inhibitor of electrochemical polarization both in potentiodynamic polarization measurements and in impedance spectroscopy tests. It has also been found to have high efficiency when used for the inhibition of corrosion of titanium dioxide thin films deposited on glass substrates.
