ML150 is a bacterial strain that was isolated from human liver. It has the ability to inhibit serine protease activity and enhances the activity of the drug cyclo(L-Phe-L-Leu). ML150 is an inhibitor of the serine protease and inhibits the activation of tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNFα) in vitro. The mechanism by which ML150 inhibits serine protease is unknown, but it may be due to its ability to bind to a specific region on enzyme's active site. This bacterium is being studied for its potential use in cancer diagnosis and treatment.
