GLPG-0187 is an anti-cancer drug that inhibits the proliferation of cancer cells by inducing apoptosis. GLPG-0187, an integrin receptor antagonist, can be used for the treatment of prostate cancer and melanoma. It has been shown to inhibit the growth of malignant melanoma cells in vivo models and it has also shown to decrease the expression of mesenchymal markers on prostate cancer cells. GLPG-0187 inhibits tumor growth through a number of mechanisms, including inhibition of cell proliferation and induction of apoptosis. It also blocks some signaling pathways associated with tumorigenesis and angiogenesis.
