Yadanzioside G is a quassinoid that is extracted from the leaves of the plant, B. javanica. It has been shown to have inhibitory effects against cancer cells and viruses. Yadanzioside G also inhibits the production of proinflammatory cytokines from macrophages stimulated with lipopolysaccharides (LPS). The aceturate ester of yadanzioside G has been shown to have significant inhibitory activity against tumor cell proliferation in vitro and in vivo. Yadanzioside G inhibits antigen-induced lymphocytic leukemia in mice by inhibiting the growth of lymphocytes and their proliferation.
