Momordin II is a potent inhibitor of cyclin-dependent kinases (CDKs) and has shown promising results as an anticancer agent. This analog of Momordica charantia protein binds to the ATP-binding pocket of CDK2, inhibiting its activity and leading to apoptosis in cancer cells. Momordin II has been found in human urine and has been shown to have a strong inhibitory effect on tumor growth in Chinese hamsters.
