Descripción:Gadobutrol is a gadolinium-based contrast agent used in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) to improve the visibility of blood vessels. Gadobutrol has potential side effects, such as liver lesions and heart problems. These side effects are rare and have been seen only in animals that were given gadobutrol intravenously. Gadolinium is not known to cause any other adverse effects, but it can be toxic if ingested or inhaled. Gadobutrol is injected into the bloodstream and accumulates in the body's tissues, including the brain, kidneys, bones, and liver. MRI scans are considered safe for most patients with kidney disease, but gadobutrol should not be used by those who have severe kidney disease or by pregnant women because of its potential to cross the placenta and enter fetal tissue.
