Atovaquone-d4 is an analog of atovaquone, a medication used to treat and prevent malaria. It is also being studied as a potential anticancer agent. Atovaquone-d4 works by inhibiting kinases, which are enzymes involved in cell signaling pathways that can contribute to cancer growth and survival. In Chinese hamster ovary cells, atovaquone-d4 has been shown to inhibit the activity of several different kinases, including those involved in regulating cell cycle progression and promoting cell survival.
