Descripción:tert-Butyl 5-bromopyridine-2-carboxylate is an arylation agent that is used to synthesize a number of different compounds. It is the most potent arylating agent known, with high yields and low toxicity. The benzyl group provides protection against hydrogen chloride and can be removed by hydrolysis. This agent reacts with a variety of aromatic halides in the presence of copper salts to produce a variety of products. Tert-Butyl 5-bromopyridine-2-carboxylate has been shown to have good pharmacokinetic properties, but it's use as an antibiotic has not been studied.
