MK 0893 is a natural compound that has been shown to be effective in the treatment of hepatic steatosis. This drug has been shown to inhibit cholesterol synthesis and reduce inflammatory responses by binding to the vasoactive intestinal peptide receptor. In addition, it has been shown to have anti-diabetic properties through its ability to activate the Glp-1 receptor. MK 0893 also binds monoclonal antibodies and prevents them from binding to their antigenic sites on cells. It also blocks receptor binding, which may lead to reduced cellular proliferation and an increase in apoptosis.
