Di-Fmoc-3,4-diaminobenzoic acid is an acylurea that is used in the synthesis of cyclic peptides. Di-Fmoc-3,4-diaminobenzoic acid is synthesized from piperidine and aldehyde with a diazo group. This compound is involved in the chemical ligation of peptides to form cyclotides. The synthesis of this compound has been performed using solid phase chemistry techniques with the use of a linker molecule. Di-Fmoc-3,4-diaminobenzoic acid has been shown to be synthetically useful for the sequence specific conjugation of peptide fragments as well as for chemical ligation reactions.
