Carprofen is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that belongs to the group of halogenated carboxylic acid derivatives. It is used in the treatment of pain and inflammation caused by osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and other medical conditions. Carprofen has been shown to inhibit the production of prostaglandins (PGs) in the stomach, thereby reducing gastric acid secretion. Carprofen is also able to reduce the number of ulcers caused by H. pylori bacteria and can be used as a remedy for various types of chronic inflammatory diseases.
