Descripción

Ilimaquinone is a natural compound that exhibits cytotoxic and anti-cancer properties. Ilimaquinone has shown significant cytotoxicity against human breast cancer cells in vitro. It inhibits the mitochondrial membrane potential and leads to a reduction in cellular ATP, which may be due to its ability to inhibit autophagy. Ilimaquinone also alters transcriptional regulation by binding to the Golgi apparatus. This drug has not been evaluated for clinical use in humans, but it has been used successfully in mice with t-cell lymphomas.
