Palonidipine is a fatty acid that belongs to the group of nootropic agents. It modulates the activity of acetylcholine and is used to treat high blood pressure. Palonidipine has been shown to be a hydrophobic substance, which means it does not dissolve in water. This property allows it to cross the blood-brain barrier and act as an acetylcholine receptor blocker, thereby reducing the risk of stroke. Palonidipine has also been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties and may reduce inflammation by inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis.
