3,6-Dibromo-2,7-dihydroxynaphthalene is a crystalline compound that belongs to the naphthalene family of chemicals. It is a white solid with a melting point of 59 °C and a boiling point of 392 °C. 3,6-Dibromo-2,7-dihydroxynaphthalene can be synthesized by reacting borohydride with sodium trifluoride in an ether solution. This compound has been studied for its use as an intermediate in organic synthesis. 3,6-Dibromo-2,7-dihydroxynaphthalene has also been studied for its use in the production of benzene derivatives. The crystal structure of this substance is centrosymmetric and contains six molecules per unit cell, giving it a space group P6/mmc (No. 166). The molecular formula is C8H4Br2O
