5-Hydrazinobenzene-1,3-dicarboxylic acid (5HBDCA) is a ketone that has been shown to be insensitive to the fluorescence of other molecules. It is selective for the β-unsaturated ketone group and can be used as a monovalent probe for this group in organic synthesis. 5HBDCA has a constant value of 260 nm, which can be used as an indicator for its presence in a solution. The water solubility of 5HBDCA allows it to be used in many different types of applications. It also has high fluorescence, making it easy to detect and monitor.
