• Descripción: Loracarbef is a bactericidal antibiotic that belongs to the group of antimicrobial agents. It is active against a wide range of microorganisms, including aerobic and anaerobic bacteria, Gram-positive cocci, Gram-negative bacilli, spirochetes, and Chlamydia. Loracarbef is used in the treatment of chronic bronchitis in women and streptococcal pharyngitis. It also has been used in combination with radiation therapy for the treatment of patients with cancer. Chemical stability studies have shown that loracarbef monohydrate does not form crystals when mixed with hydrochloric acid or human serum. The compound has been shown to be effective against various strains of bacteria including Staphylococcus aureus and Streptococcus pneumoniae.
