Descripción:
(RS)-3-Methoxy-4-(2-methylpropyl)phenylglycine (MCPG), also known as (RS)-3,4-dimethoxyphenylglycine, is a serotonin agonist with high affinity for the 5HT1A receptor. This drug has been shown to inhibit the locomotor activity of rats. It has also been shown to inhibit neuronal death in rat striatal cells and may be acting through a cation channel and receptor activity. MCPG binds to metabotropic glutamate receptors that are present in specific brain regions and has been shown to have antidepressant properties in animals.
