1-(2-Pyrimidinyl)-1H-indole is an inhibitor drug that is used in the synthesis of cytotoxic agents. It is a cross-coupling agent that has been shown to be effective at dehydrogenative cross-coupling with palladium catalysts. 1-(2-Pyrimidinyl)-1H-indole can also be used in the synthesis of terminal alkynes, alkenylation and other reactions. This compound is characterized by its high reactivity and is typically used in refluxing conditions as a catalyst for organic solvents. The reaction solution should be protected from light during the reaction process to prevent decomposition of the product.
