Fischeria A is a natural product, which belongs to the class of ent-kauranes. It is formed by the cyclisation of farnesyl diphosphate and has shown anti-cancer properties. Fischeria A has been found to inhibit the growth of breast cancer cells in vitro, as well as murine leukemia and colon cancer cells in vivo. This compound also inhibits the proliferation of human mammary carcinoma cells (MMCs) that are resistant to tamoxifen. The molecular mechanism by which Fischeria A inhibits cell proliferation is not yet understood.
