Rosuvastatin is an orally active cholesterol-lowering drug belonging to the class of statins. It reduces levels of LDL cholesterol by inhibiting the synthesis of cholesterol in the liver. This can be measured by comparing the amount of rosuvastatin found in plasma and serum samples.
