UAMC-3203 is a ferroptosis inhibitor that binds to ferrous iron and prevents the formation of reactive oxygen species. It has been shown to be effective in vivo in reducing cancer growth, with the most potent effects seen in rat cardiomyocytes. UAMC-3203 also inhibits myeloid-derived suppressor cells and reduces inflammation, which may have beneficial effects on the immune microenvironment. UAMC-3203 has been shown to be safe for rats, with no observed side effects or toxicity at doses up to 100 mg/kg body weight.
