It blocks these channels by binding to the external vestibule of the open channel pore and occluding access to the selectivity filter. 2-(4-Ethoxybenzyl)-1-(cyclohexylmethyl)-N,N-diethyl-1H-benzo[D]imidazole-5-carboxamide has been used as a research tool in cell biology and pharmacology, where it has been shown to be an inhibitor of protein interactions, activator of ligands, receptor, antibody and peptides. This compound is also highly purified with a purity greater than 99%.
