JNJ 39758979 has been shown to block the effects of histamine in human cells by reducing intracellular calcium concentration and preventing energy metabolism. This drug also inhibits inflammation in mouse models of inflammatory skin diseases such as atopic dermatitis. JNJ 39758979 has also shown clinical relevance for chronic arthritis, metabolic disorders, and inflammatory bowel disease. The drug also exhibits inhibition of fatty acid synthesis in human cells.
