The SBI-0640756 is a potent and selective inhibitor of protein synthesis. It has been shown to inhibit the proliferation of fibrolamellar carcinoma cells and chronic lymphocytic leukemia cells, which are characterized by high levels of resistance to other drugs. The drug binds to ubiquitin ligases, which are enzymes that regulate the activity of proteins in the cell. This inhibition leads to reduced activity of DNA repair mechanisms and regulatory molecules in cancer cells, leading to cell death. The drug has also been shown to have low toxicity in animal models.
